Comprehensive Coastal Resource Management Plan (CCRMP) - Description and Disclaimer

In its advisory capacity The Center for Coastal Resources Management (CCRM) at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) works closely with local and regional government programs to develop products to meet the needs of the broader resource management community. 

The Comprehensive Coastal Resource Management Plan (CCRMP) Atlas is a collection of resources to assist local governments implement legislative requirements passed by the 2011 Virginia General Assembly.  Some of the information utilizes data collected by the Center, but data provided by other programs and agencies external to VIMS are also included.  

CCRM and the Comprehensive Coastal Inventory Program (CCI) provide these data with the understanding that it is not guaranteed to be correct or complete, and conclusions drawn from the data set are the sole responsibility of the user.  Every attempt has been made to ensure that these data and the documentation are reliable and accurate. Neither CCRM, CCI, or VIMS assume liability for any damages caused by inaccuracies in the data or documentation, or as a result of failure of the data to perform in a particular manner. CCRM, CCI, and VIMS make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or utility of this information, nor does the fact of distribution constitute a warranty.

Individuals who download data from this site agree to the following, and understand the limitations defined. 

  • Use proper citations where applicable, and include appropriate logos provided (see CCRM or CCI logo)

  • CCRM is not responsible for misuse of these data.

  • CCRM does not oversee or assume responsibility for alterations to these products by users.

  • CCRM may not address specific questions from users who received the data through another party.

  • For digital data, distribution of these files is not restricted. CCRM, however, recommends metadata file(s) always remain with the data.
